Jimmy Fallon showcases Daily Freeman's most excellent juxtaposition

Saugerties high school grad Jimmy Fallon gave a shout-out to his 'hometown newspaper' (I think it's called the Daily Freeman), during a segment called "Screengrabs: Jimmy Shares His Favorites Sent in by Viewers." over at 'Late Night' yesterday.

The fun starts at the 3:30-minute mark, but you just might want to watch the whole thing.

The culprit was a most excellent juxtaposition between a headline and a photo on a most controversial Catskill Mountain Rail Trail story.

The Flaming Lips

The Flaming Lips will appear on Saugerties grad Jimmy Fallon's show Friday night, astrophysicist (?) Fallon has tweeted.

Thanks to a group of students from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, the band will perform Saturday at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center.

Freeman reporter Ann Gibbons talked to the band and the students and will have her report for you tomorrow in Preview.

It's official. Saugerties High School grad Jimmy Fallon graduated today from the College of St. Rose. He's attending ceremonies right now.

Saugerties High School graduate Jimmy Fallon finished his first show today and wasted no time to post a Tweeter entry. The taped show was not available for critics, so you'll have to see it to judge it.

"New York City was hit with a huge snow storm," he said in his opening monologue, the Associated Press reported, "and I woke up this morning and said, 'Please, let it be a snow day!'"

The 1992 Saugerties High School grad talked to the Freeman's Bonnie Langston on Monday, and he even made reference in one of his Twitter posts, above.

But you'll have to wait until Tuesday to read about that.

I'm mean like that.

UPDATE: OK. So it's Tuesday. The story is up.

TANGENT: Twitter stalker Owen Thomas of the gossip site Gawker didn't like Fallon's post where he "schmoozed the Twitter-loving press" as he "uttered Twitter gibberish." (like Owen's use of "Twitteronia" and "Twitteratti"). I sort-of understand the anger. Twitter would be a horrible beat to cover.
