Amanda (Zullo) Gaffney, a 1991 graduate of Kingston High School - and her family - will appear on “The Dr. Oz Show” on Thursday.
The Hurley native resides in Fairfield, Conn., with her husband, Tim, and their two children. The family was chosen to participate in a segment about incorporating healthy ingredients in family meals.
A Dr. Oz production crew first filmed at their home; the family was then invited to the show’s studio in New York City for a live taping a few weeks ago.
The show airs at 2 p.m. on Albany’s WNYT-TV13.
Gaffney is the daughter of Barbara Zullo of Hurley and the late Emil Zullo.
Daily Freeman Life Editor Ivan Lajara talks about journalism, living in the Hudson Valley, language, the Web, cats and even politics. But he shouldn't.

Hey, Kingston city council! Laurent Rejto of the Hudson Valley Film Commission will shoot you IN THE FACE!
If you are a vampire, that is.
Rejto, co-founder of the upcoming Woodstock Film Festival, director of the Hudson Valley Film Commission and vocal opponent of stupid Kingston fees for filmmakers, has a small role in "Stakeland," a movie that was shot in the mid-Hudson Valley because THERE ARE NO FEES FOR FILMMAKERS.
Just sayin'

Cooking on a bridge

"Brunch on the Bridge," a three-episode cooking show series by www.greenpeastv.com that takes place over the Mid-Hudson Bridge, taped its latest on July 26.
It features chef Marcus Guiliano of Aroma Thyme Bistro in Ellenville, who created a vegetarian brunch with a little help from New York State Bridge Authority’s Executive Director Joseph Ruggiero. Kingston's own Stockade Tavern owner Paul Maloney was on hand to demonstrate old-time pre-Prohibtion era cocktail recipes using spirits from Tuthilltown Spirits of Gardiner.
The “Brunch on the Bridge” episode is scheduled to "air" on www.greenpeastv.com later this month.
Here's a tease.

Kingston, the hot spot

As mentioned previously, The folks at the Kingston Digital Corridor are producing a Hot Spot map of the city's, um, hot spots, highlighting the venues and locations in and around the city that provide a series of magical waves that go into your computer to let you watch porn, or whatever it is that you're into, you pervert.
The map is still in its infancy, but it is growing. And it will get better - with your help. So if you know of a hot spot, let them know, and they’ll put the venue in the map and get them a sticker, shown at right.
You can't pass up a free sticker, can you?

Kingston Digital Corridor mapping hot spots
If you see this sticker at any establishment in the Kingston area, the venue has Wi-Fi.

The cool kids of the Kingston Digital Corridor announced today during a networking/drinking session that they are mapping the city and that they will unveil a hot-spot map soon. They also want your help, so send them a line if you want to help.
Enjoy your porn, I mean, free Internet.
