The life and death of Stick Man

The image in today's column, "New parents are acting like babies," is part of a warning from a lawn mower around the entrance of Sears at the Hudson Valley Mall in the town of Ulster.



The other part of the warning advises not to mow over children in the forward direction.

Obviously, stick figure babies are not the only ones threatened by lawn mowers.

Stick man also is in danger:

And now that we're talking about stick men, you should know (or shouldn't) that there's a whole subculture out there which spends its time thinking of ways to kill the figures.

Jokes aside, The American Society of Pediatrics has tips for parents who are crazy enough to use lawn mowers around children.

I've got one: don't.
